About University of Missouri

Apply by June 15 to begin your studies in August!

Earn your master’s degree while studying with colleagues around the world in the online M.Ed. TESOL program at the University of Missouri.  As a graduate of the MU TESOL program, you will be prepared to work in a wide variety of teaching contexts, in the U.S. and abroad, with children and adults.

During your TESOL studies, you will strengthen your skills in planning lessons, developing curricula, evaluating materials and technologies, and designing assessments.  You will enhance your knowledge of English structure and be better equipped to provide explanations of sticky language points, offer error correction, and diagnose learner difficulties.  You will become better informed about the language acquisition process and be able to use proven classroom management strategies and a range of teaching methods to foster conditions supportive of language learning.

The program consists of 11 courses.  By taking two classes a semester, you can finish your degree within two years.  And the program is economical, too!  Graduate students taking online classes at the University of Missouri pay in-state tuition rates.

In the TESOL program at Mizzou, you will learn from award-winning faculty who have taught English as a second and foreign language in North America, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia.  And, you will study alongside classmates who are practicing teachers and who bring diverse perspectives on English language education worldwide.
